Since the Augustinian Volunteer experience centers relationship building, all volunteers serve in placements where they can make meaningful connections with others. Because of this, all volunteers have the opportunity to strengthen interpersonal and communication skills. They gain experience with professionalism in a work environment and receive twice annual feedback from supervisors.
Volunteers often play a unique role at their service sites. They are called on to be leaders in a variety of ways and to be adaptable in the face of any changing needs of their service site or the individuals with which they serve. In addition to the skills that are universal to serving as an Augustinian Volunteer, each AV experience is unique and every individual gains a different set of professional knowledge and competencies.
