Many volunteers enter graduate school after their year of service. For some, the volunteer year is an opportunity to have a meaningful experience of service, spirituality and community while gaining professional experience between undergraduate and graduate school. It is common for volunteers to apply for educational programs during their year. Others may choose to purse graduated school later after several years of professional experience or not at all. Whatever the individuals’ professional or educational goals, an Augustinian Volunteer year can be a significant steppingstone.
Some graduate programs at Villanova University, Merrimack College and Catholic Theological Union offer tuition discounts for former Augustinian Volunteers. Many graduate programs offer scholarships for those who have done a year of service with any program. For a complete list visit Catholic Volunteer Network.
