How did you develop a passion for service?

My family and my Catholic faith both influenced my passion for service from an early age. My high school placed an emphasis on social justice issues, and opened my eyes to the troubles of many. Once I started college and participated in more service activities, the more I fell in love with the people I met, the work, and the purpose.

I am passionate about women’s health, especially in developing countries. It boggles my mind that healthcare is still unable to reach so many people that women are still dying from childbirth or complications related to childbirth and pregnancy.

Best moment as an AV to date?

I would say that arriving in San Diego and being showered with love from former AVs is the moment that most stands out to me.
