Madi is from Gansevoort, NY. She moved to New Hampshire to study Nursing at Saint Anselm College. This year she will be serving at Saint Vincent de Paul Village. She’s excited for the opportunity to turn strangers into neighbors and be guided into her nursing career with love and solidarity.

How did you develop a passion for service?
I developed a passion for service when I discovered that it is what brings me closer to my fellow humans and God. I was inspired to walk alongside others and instill dignity through my upbringing by my Mother, who has constantly taught me: ‘no matter what we are all human.’

Share an issue you’re passionate about and why.
One issue I am passionate about is that of ability being a privilege. I am passionate about this issue because I believe no individual should be defined by their diagnoses, especially those with different abilities, for they too deserve the chance for equality and equity.
Best moment as an AV to date?
My community members and I teaching ourselves to surf.
What do you like most about living in your new city so far?
I love how many things there are to do outdoors and how great the people are.
