Keri Salanik is from Perkasie, Pennsylvania. She attended Villanova University where she majored in Comprehensive Science and Humanities. This year, Keri will be serving in Ventura, CA as a Campus Minister/Student Life Assistant at Villanova Prep. Keri is most looking forward to meeting the students at Villanova Prep and exploring Ventura with her community mates.

How did you develop a passion for service?
I grew up volunteering at my church and going on service trips. In college, I was involved in a bunch of different weekly service opportunities that transformed how I looked at the world. It was really the people I met while doing service at Villanova that has made me want to be an Augustinian Volunteer.

Share an issue you’re passionate about and explain why.
I’m passionate about people and specifically making sure everyone knows that they belong. I love working with high school students because kids growing up are trying to figure out who they are and where they belong. I’m passionate about making sure everyone knows there’s a place for them and that they are important.

When we discovered a lime tree in our backyard
What do you like most about living in your new city so far?
There are so many roads where there’s a view of the ocean on one side and mountains on the other and it’s beautiful!
