In 2007 Joanna served with the Augustinian Volunteers in San Diego, CA. She volunteered at St. Augustine High School as a Campus Ministry Assistant coordinating service and retreat opportunities for 700 high school boys. She also helped out at Villa Nueva Housing Development with homework and after school activities several days as week.
Joanna holds a B.A. in Art History and English and a minor in Spanish from Villanova University. After her time with the Augustinian Volunteers in San Diego, she returned to Villanova to serve as a Campus Ministry Intern, where she worked with first year students in the residence halls. Concurrently, Joanna completed her M.S. in Counseling and Human Relations. Joanna was the Associate Director of Campus Ministry for the Service Break Program for three and a half years at Villanova University, providing opportunities for nearly 800 students annually to serve domestically and internationally during University breaks. Through this program, Joanna was fortunate to be able to accompany students on Service Break Experiences to places such as El Salvador, Cambodia, Ecuador, and Peru. She also maintained involvement with the Augustinian Volunteers by serving as a member of the Augustinian Volunteers Advisory Council.
Always interested to expand her knowledge, Joanna completed the Non-Profit Management Certificate Program at Villanova University in December of 2014. Additionally, her work with the Service Break Program has inspired a desire to visit and learn from different cultures. Born and raised in Hamilton, NJ, Joanna currently lives in Philadelphia with her husband. She enjoys exploring the city by foot and by bike, running, playing softball, cooking, and reading.
Joanna is ecstatic to continue her journey with the Augustinians and the Augustinian Volunteers. She is humbled to be joining the staff as Director and is excited for what is to come. She looks forward to walking with the volunteers as they serve others and gain greater insights about themselves through community living.
